The Winnipeg Goldeyes and Wichita Wingnuts lead the way in all-star selections with four each for the American Association vs. Can-Am League All-Star Game on July 25 at RCGT Park in Ottawa.

The starting position players and designated hitter were selected by a vote of the association’s 11 managers. All-star skipper Rick Forney of the Goldeyes picked the reserves and pitchers for the game.

Here are the American Association’s all-star starters:

  • First Base: Kevin Keyes, Kansas City T-Bones
  • Second Base: Tony Thomas, St. Paul Saints
  • Shortstop: Nate Samson, Sioux City Explorers
  • Third Base: Wes Darvill, Winnipeg Goldeyes
  • Catcher: Dashenko Ricardo, Lincoln Saltdogs
  • Designated Hitter: Matt Chavez, Wichita Wingnuts
  • Outfield: Anthony Gallas, St. Paul Saints 
  • Outfield: Harrison Kain, Wichita Wingnuts 
  • Outfield: Josh Romanski, Winnipeg Goldeyes
