Just like when he first won the award in 2016, it was a dominant start against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles that earned LHP Yean Carlos Gil his third career Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week Award.

GIL, 26, received a no decision on June 14 despite striking out 10 and allowing only three hits in seven shutout innings in what ended up being a 6-5 loss to the Aigles.

The Venezuelan lefthander has been Ottawa’s most consistent starter this season, compiling a 3.37 ERA with 35 strikeouts in 32 innings.

Gil is one of four Ottawa Champions pitchers who have received the award, along with Austin Chrismon (2), Wilmer Font, and Drew Granier.
