Pointstreak, the official statistician of the Can-Am League, has announced that Rockland Boulders INF Cody Regis has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending June 4.
This marks the second consecutive Pointstreak Player of the Week award for Regis. The Los Angeles native picked up right where he left off last week, hitting .440 (11-for-25) over the course of this week, collecting two doubles, three home runs, and eight RBI.
Just hours after being named last week’s winner, Regis began his week on Monday in a home doubleheader against the Ottawa Champions on Memorial Day. In game one, Regis fell just a triple shy of the cycle, as he went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBI as the Boulders rolled 10-0.
Regis rocked Ottawa pitching
Regis collected a 1-for-3 line in game two of the doubleheader, as Ottawa took their lone win of the four-game series. After an off-day Tuesday, Regis and the Boulders faced Ottawa again on Wednesday and Thursday. In a 6-5 Rockland win on Wednesday, Regis put together a 3-for-4 line with a double, home run and two RBI. The Boulders earned the series win on Thursday with a 7-6 triumph, as Regis was 1-for-3 with a pair of walks.
For the weekend, Rockland headed to Quebec City to take on the Quebec Capitales. Regis’ lone hitless game of the week occurred on Friday in a 6-5 loss, but he bounced back with a 2-for-4 showing on Saturday, a 6-4 Quebec win. Regis capped his week on Sunday with a 2-for-4 outing that included a home run and three RBI. Rockland won the game 6-4.
Regis is now hitting .412 (28-for-68) on the season with five doubles, six home runs and 16 RBI.
