The Ottawa Champions have finalized their roster for the opening of the 2017 Can-Am League season, which gets under way this evening at 7:05 against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles at RCGT Park.

The Champions will begin defence of their league title with a 21-man roster, comprised of 10 returning players from 2016 and 11 new acquisitions.

Returning players:

OF SEBASTIEN BOUCHER, OF MATT HELMS, OF ADRON CHAMBERS, SS DANIEL BICK, C DANNY GRAUER, RHP AUSTIN CHRISMON, RHP DANIEL CORDERO, LHP YEAN CARLOS GIL, RHP STEVE BORKOWSKI, RHP ANDREW COOPER

New acquisitions:

OF STEVE BROWN, 3B GUSTAVO PIERRE, 2B BRIAN BISTAGNE, 1B RICKY OROPESA, C TYLER NORDGREN, IF BRANDON FISCHER, LHP PATRICK PETERSON, LHP JAMES MULRY, RHP VICTOR BERIGUETTE, RHP RAYDEL SANCHEZ, RHP CURTIS JOHNSON

Training camp invitees RHP PHILLIPPE AUMONT and OF TYSON GILLIES are not on the opening day roster, but will remain with the team to train.

On Wednesday the Quebec Capitales signed training camp invitee IF/OF PHIL CRAIG-ST. LOUIS to a contract for the 2017 season.
